Why Tiffany glass feels/sounds like plastic even though it is glass?

The glass pieces are welded together with tin solder.As a result, the glass will not vibrate and make a sound of glass when knocked with fingers.But you will hear the sound of glass when tapping with a metal piece, such as a fork.

Why is the stained glass color different between turning the light ON and OFF?

Stained glass is colored by adding metallic oxide powders while it is in a molten state.The colors are mixed together inside the glass pieces, so you will not see the true color if there is no light through the glass.

Why is the stained glass product coated with oil?

The stained glass pieces are welded together with tin solder; The oil will protect the solder and make the glass pieces look brighter.We use mineral oil as a part of the finishing process.Please use a soft dry cloth to remove any excess oil.
